ICAST is capable of pouring a wide range of both carbon steel castings and low alloy steel castings. Commonly used in a large number of industries due to its strength and impact resistance, carbon and low alloy carbon steels are very cost-effective.
Carbon steel castings range from low- to high-carbon content and contain no specified or required amounts of chromium, nickel, or molybdenum. Carbon steels are the least expensive and an excellent choice to use when corrosion is not an issue.
Low-alloy steels such as 8620 or 4130, contain specified amounts of chromium, nickel or molybdenum to the carbon to enhance hardenability and toughness. Low-alloy steels are most commonly used for components in the oil and gas, and pump and valve industries, but are also suitable for military vehicles and earthmoving and construction equipment.
